One Piece: Castaway follows a simple system using three separate Ranks to determine the skill of characters in various areas. From these areas comes several different attributes, but more on that later. First of all, the ranks are available in three base types, like the three primary colors: Strength, Speed, and Accuracy. They each start out at rank 0 (zero), and can grow from there each time the character goes up to a specific bounty point.
Each time the character reaches one of these points, they get a specific number of ranks to add to their character. The points cannot be moved once they are placed. The chart is as follows:
Each rank is in a separate category, going from 0 (zero) to the maximum, 15 (fifteen). These ranks indicate the character's power in that field. The way to tell how these affect a battle is simple; rank 2 is better than rank 1, rank 3 beats rank 2, and so on. Therefore, one with more strength than the other wins out, but if that person has a higher Accuracy rank, they can try to fight from a range, where they have the advantage. Simple, right?
Also, abilities and skills are defined by a duo of ranks that determine what their alignment is. For example, Roronoa Zoro's "Onigiri" technique would be Strength/Speed. Strength is the primary rank needed, and Speed is the secondary. When Onigiri clashes with, say, Luffy's "Gomu-Gomu no Rifle", which is Strength/Accuracy, then first the two people's Strength values will be put against each other. If one is higher than the other, the higher man wins and the loser's attack is negated. The loser can still try to dodge, but it is unlikely. However, if Luffy and Zoro were equal in Strength (which almost seems likely), then they would compare their secondary ranks next. Zoro's speed would likely beat Luffy's and Luffy's Accuracy would no doubt beat Zoro's, so they would be at a sort of impasse. At this point, both attacks are negated and the battle continues from there, assuming that they two blows clashed in the middle and were withdrawn.
Each time the character reaches one of these points, they get a specific number of ranks to add to their character. The points cannot be moved once they are placed. The chart is as follows:
0 Beli: 0
100 Beli: 1
5,000 Beli: 1
10,000 Beli: 1
50,000 Beli: 1
100,000 Beli: 1
500,000 Beli: 1
10,000,000 Beli: 1
50,000,000 Beli: 1
100,000,000 Beli: 2
500,000,000 Beli: 2
1,000,000,000 Beli: 3
